Areas of Expertise

Specialist care across the front of the eye

From the tear film to the crystalline lens — diagnosis, medical treatment and surgery for corneal, refractive and lens-related conditions.

Cornea Care

The cornea is her primary specialty

A clear, regularly-shaped cornea is the eye's most important focusing surface. Small changes in its clarity or curvature can disproportionately affect vision.

Dr. Shraddha's cornea practice covers the full spectrum — infections and ulcers, scars, dystrophies, ocular surface disease and keratoconus — supported by detailed imaging such as corneal topography, tomography and pachymetry before any treatment decision is made.

Keratoconus

Frequently changing spectacle power deserves a corneal check

Keratoconus causes the cornea to progressively thin and bulge, producing irregular astigmatism, distorted vision and frequent changes in glasses — often beginning in the teens or twenties. Early detection matters, because corneal cross-linking can help stabilise progression in appropriate cases.

  • Topography & tomography-based diagnosis and staging
  • Glasses, speciality contact lenses and cross-linking
  • DALK and other transplant options for advanced disease

Corneal Transplantation

Layer-by-layer transplant surgery, matched to the disease

Modern corneal transplantation is no longer one operation. Full-thickness (penetrating) keratoplasty, deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (DALK) and endothelial techniques such as DSAEK each replace only the diseased layer — preserving healthy tissue wherever possible.

Dr. Shraddha evaluates each eye individually to decide whether a transplant is needed at all, and if so, which technique offers the most appropriate balance of visual rehabilitation and long-term graft health.

LASIK & Vision Correction

Your eye power alone does not decide your LASIK eligibility

A safe refractive surgery decision considers corneal thickness, corneal shape, topography, prescription stability, dry eye, overall eye health, lifestyle and age — assessed together by your surgeon.

Cataract Surgery

Clear vision, restored with modern micro-incision surgery

Cataract surgery today is a precise, stitch-less day procedure in most cases. The cloudy natural lens is removed by phacoemulsification and replaced with a clear intraocular lens (IOL) chosen around your eyes and your lifestyle — monofocal, toric, multifocal or trifocal options where suitable.

Dry Eye Clinic

Burning, gritty or watery eyes may share one root cause

Dry eye disease is a disturbance of the tear film — the eye's natural protective layer. It can cause burning, foreign-body sensation, fluctuating vision and, paradoxically, watering. A structured tear-film assessment identifies which type of dry eye you have, because treatment differs between aqueous deficiency and evaporative (meibomian gland) disease.

Precision First

Why a corneal evaluation matters before any vision procedure

Corneal thicknessPachymetry confirms whether the cornea can safely tolerate laser reshaping.
Corneal shapeTopography & tomography screen for early keratoconus and irregular astigmatism.
Tear filmUntreated dry eye can distort measurements and affect healing after surgery.
Prescription stabilityA changing power suggests the eye — or the cornea — is still changing.

Treatment Philosophy

“Good eye surgery begins long before the operation — with careful measurement, honest counselling, and the humility to advise against a procedure when it is not right for the eye.”

— Dr. Shraddha Sureka's clinical approach
